Abstract

The article presents a study which analyzes the use of old surveys for designing longitudinal studies, building data banks and estimating bias. The study is based upon a 1956 research study of Ankara University Political Science Faculty graduates. That research focused on course preference, feelings toward the program offered at the Political Science Faculty, and job satisfaction. The questions included in the research were all included in the study conducted by the author. Moreover, the items designed to get at the socialization, values, and occupational mobility of the graduates were also incorporated.
