Abstract

The article discusses globalization in Brazil. This paper features the world-systems perspective in studying a new destiny for Brazil. Globalization as part of the fields of social science is different from the insights of world-systems theory. The five key dimensions of the world-systems approach is delineated from the world society approach but they give support in a dependency perspective for the world-system paradigm. This approach was used in the case of Brazil to show the dynamics leading to global convergence than the consensus model from a world society paradigm.
