Abstract

The article reports on the survey concerning the psychological problems of medical students in 1960. The students from the University College in London, England completed a specially designed questionnaire seeking details of health record at school, social and family factors, and parental attitudes. Results shows that one-third of the sample reported psychological symptoms. It was also observed that those judged more severely disturbed tended to report symptoms earlier. However, measures of personality and intelligence did not themselves correlate significantly with academic success.
