Abstract

The article presents a study that measures physical activity in human arm and leg. The measurement was done using the instrument called the brachiokinesiometer (BKM) and pedometer. The study show how a normal group behaves under different circumstances with regard to the two measurement tools. It also presents a pilot study, in which the two methods were applied to a group of patients with mentally diseases. Measurement of physical activities in mentally ill patients is low, and was more lowest in the sample of depressed patients.
