Abstract
- A novel blue phosphor based on phosphate host matrix, KSrPO<subscript>4</subscript> doped with Eu<superscript>2+</superscript>, was prepared by solid state reaction. The phosphor invariably emits blue luminescence with a peak wavelength at 424 nm under ultraviolet excitation at 360 nm. Eu<superscript>2+</superscript>-doped KSrPO<subscript>4</subscript> phosphors show higher thermally stable luminescence which was found to be better than commercially available Y<subscript>3</subscript>Al<subscript>5</subscript>O<subscript>12</subscript>:Ce<superscript>3+</superscript> phosphor at temperature higher than 225 °C.
