Abstract

When a magnetic instability collapses, a wave separating the stable and unstable state propagates along the superconductor. An induction method is used to determine the configuration of the interface of these states. For a 0.16 mm in diameter Nb–Ti wire the moving boundary is 1.7–2.4 mm long, depending on the magnetic field. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
