Revisiting the 'Gender Agenda.'.

The author revisits gender agenda discussed at The Subordination of Women in Developing Societies (SOW) conference held at the Institute of Development Studies (IDS) in England in 1978. She presents comments on the repositioning of gender in women's empowerment and women's rights in the political context. Also noted is the Gender and Development (GAD) agenda which was formed against socialist feminist critiques of liberal feminist efforts to divide a role for women in development.
