The article discusses bracket bonding in the practice of orthodontics. Two-paste self-curing composite systems were commonly used, however, light cured systems such as Unitek's Transbond and Reliance's Pad Lock are readily available. Decalcification is a problem and Reliance Orthodontics developed a light-cured, fluoride-releasing, filled sealant with a catalyst which protects the enamel surface. Care in the use of light-emitting diode light and self-etching primers is advised.
