Abstract
- The authors compare the consolidation of information industries with that of agribusinesses. Small businesses stand out because they offer high quality or special themes to maintain their customers. There are growing concerns about free internet services such as Google Scholar and Microsoft Windows Live Academic taking over traditional journal indexes. The problem with large acquisitions is that they focus on quantity instead of quality of access to information, state the authors.
