Abstract

This article attempts to explore certain well-known attitudes which are both causally and coincidentally related to the factors inherent in non-Western and economically underdeveloped countries in South Asia. The author confines itself primarily to issues which are distinctively South Asian and which hinge upon the interaction between Asia and the West. He observes that conflicts are apparent in the attitudes of Asians as they have attempted to re-evaluate their own traditions and economic systems and as they have developed ambitions.
