Abstract

The article reports on a bill introduced by Republican Senator Elizabeth Dole of North Carolina and Democratic Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington that would amend the Trade Adjustment Assistance program to offer automatic eligibility for textile and apparel employees who lose their jobs when their companies close because of foreign trade. It states that the bill would also increase the health care coverage tax credit to 40% for eligible employees.
