Abstract

The article reports on a study on the effects of risperidone on cognitive function in children with disruptive behaviors in the U.S. It revealed that risperidone does not alter cognitive function in children with subaverage IQ and disruptive behavior disorders and that cognitive function was maintained or improved during one year of risperidone treatment. These findings offered information for both clinicians and parents in the evaluation of benefits and risks of risperidone treatment.
