Abstract

The article discusses the case of a three-year-old boy with mild intermittent asthma, who developed life-threatening status asthmaticus refractory to maximal conventional treatment and required extracorporeal membrane oxygenation support for survival. His past medical history was notable for two mild wheezing episodes, with no recurrence in the last 12 months.
