Canadian OCC Consumption Rises.

Abstract

The article reports that the use of old corrugated containers (OCC) by Canadian mills increased as disclosed by the Pulp and Paper Products Council in Montreal. Their OCC consumption rose by five percent more last June 2007 than they did in June of the previous year. Other grades saw an increase in demand in the same period including boxboard cuttings by 18 percent, mixed paper by 13 percent and high grade de-ink grades of six percent while those of sorted office paper rose by 11 percent.
