This article focuses on a type of paper that was fabricated by researchers at Northwestern University from graphene oxide. Graphene oxide offers mechanical, thermal, optical and electrical properties that surpass other materials. When forming the graphene oxide paper, graphite is oxidized to create graphite oxide, which falls apart in water to yield well-dispersed graphene oxide sheets.
