MEHRFACHLOYALITÄT STATT ASSIMILATION UND GHETTO. Gastarbeiter in einer pluralistischen Gesellschaft.

This article presents a discussion on minority guest workers in Austria. The author discusses how many of the guest workers have settled down, had children, and drawn from public funds well after the guest worker program has ended. According to the author, the children straddle two cultures, do poorly in school and are not fully assimilated into mainstream society. The author presents new forms of bonding in an open society in order to provide for better assimilation of minorities.
