Abstract

The article provides information on the impact of early diet on the development of immune systems. The study suggests that mother's immune response to fetal antigens asserts the development and growth of trophoblasts and placenta wherein the size of the placenta specify the size of the fetus. Breast feeding offers immediate and lasting influence on the susceptibility and tolerance of B cells and T cells of the offspring, while maternal under nutrition and deficiencies increases risky condition to the immune system. A schematic diagram and several tables are presented depicting immunological responses, effects of cytokines and immune reactivity.
