Abstract
- The article deals with the role of the modified General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. Predator B equipped with sophisticated infrared imaging equipment in battling several of the Southern California wildfires. The Ikhana unmanned aircraft system is designed for civil science and research missions and was launched from the Dryden Flight Research Center of the U.S. National Aeronautics and Space Administration at Edwards Air Force Base following a request from the California Office of Emergency Services and the National Interagency Fire Center.
