An Investigation of Low-Strength CMU.

The article focuses on an investigation of a low-strength concrete masonry unit (CMU) where the producer reported that a batch of products developed little or no strength and were easily broken during handling. The topics discussed include the evaluation of the cement and the CMU, an investigation of patchy particles, the identification of contaminant, effects on cement hydration and tracking the problem. The initial findings have led to an investigation of the material transportation. Several thermal analyses were conducted for the investigation.
