Abstract

The article discusses the legal significance of the environmental policies created during the 1992 United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil from June 2 to 12. Based on the article, the nature and extent of environmental problems since the 1972 Stockholm Conference has changed. At UNCED, the participants have to address problems like climate change and ozone depletion. So they were able to complete two conventions, one is for climate change and the second one is for on the preservation of biological diversity.
