Abstract

The article discusses a study on the difference in outcomes for patients with unresectable locally advanced pancreatic cancer (LAPC) who were treated with either chemoradiation therapy (CR) or induction chemotherapy followed by CR (CCR). Under the study, 247 patients were given CR while 76 had CCR. No significant difference in the patterns of treatment failure in using induction chemotherapy was found. Induction chemotherapy may be used to determine patients with LAPC for optimal benefit from consolidative CR.
