Abstract

Section 5 of the book "BCSC: Future of Retail Property: Changing Demographics and Consumer Patterns" is presented. It presents the eight lifestage segments. The stage of innocence to corruption describes children until the 14-years-old whose purchases are made by parents. The identity forming, aged 15-24 years old, are those who form their own purchasing behavior. The mass acquisition, aged 25-34 years, old will contribute 18.5% to total consumer spending by 2015. The potential market impact of each segment is presented.
