Abstract

The article discusses the environmental conditions on the Canary Island of Lanzarote and the efforts to reestablish the forest through artificial fog harvesting. The author explains that there is little to no rainfall in the area and the only way that the land obtains moisture if from the fog that passes over. Before they were removed, the trees captured the fog's moisture and filtered it into the land. INSET: Out of the mist.
