- The article discusses the ethics of psychiatric diagnosis. The article explores the ethical issues surrounding the "Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders" system of psychiatric diagnosis. It assesses the philosophical underpinnings of psychiatric diagnosis and describes its implications. It also reviews the misuse of psychiatric diagnosis in recent history.
