Abstract

The author reflects on the study by psychologists Mario Mikulincer and Phillip R. Shaver on the positive effects of security-enhancing interventions. The Mikulincer and Shaver target paper convincingly makes the point that a sense of felt security has a profound impact on adult social behavior in important social contexts. The research described is groundbreaking in at least three major ways.
