Abstract
- The article focuses on the Center for Cognitive Studies of Harvard University as a case to employ economies of research tool exchange to create a method for characterizing cross-disciplinary research. It is observed that because its directors and patrons are committed to the view that creative science is an assorted search for and development of new tools, the Center's interdisciplinary research culture stressed the exchange of methods and ideas. The Center's multidisciplinary economy had the scientists working in parallel, several years later.
