Abstract

The effects of activation time on the electrochemical capacitance of activated carbon nanotubes (ACNT) have been investigated. The modification of activation time can greatly affect the ACNT electrochemical capacitance, which is carried out by virtue of its effects on ACNT BET specific surface area and graphitized degree. The electrochemical capacitance of ACNT increases by increasing the BET specific surface area and decreasing the graphitized degree. When the ACNT electrochemical capacitance reaches its maximum, there is an optimal value to activation time. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
