Abstract

The article presents the authors' comments on the primary care treatment of epilepsy with Phenobarbital (PB) in rural China, considering the cost outcome. They suggest that epilepsy related interventions should not only be effective and sustainable, but also affordable. They say, their study demonstrates that the use of PB for the treatment of epilepsy has appeal especially in low-income regions as there are clinical improvements and lowering of costs in the target population.
