Abstract

The article presents an editorial regarding the significance of genetically modified parasites and the immune response. In doing so, investigations on the use of genetically modified parasites to probe their interaction with the host immune response are made. In addition, discussion on the use of this technology to study specific aspects of protozoan biology and immunity is presented.
