Abstract

The article reports on the impact of using plastic and paper bags on the environment in the U.S. It relates that plastic bags are made from oil-based petrochemicals and do not biodegrade, it clutters the landscape and catching on phone wires and trees, while paper bags are made by heating wood chips under pressure at high temperatures in a chemical solution, which contribute to air and water pollution. It also presents several reusable bags including the Classic Girls bag from Articrafts Inc.
