Abstract

The article features the research conducted by Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) on the use of recovered board and paper by paper industries in Great Britain. It shows that waste paper usage continues to decline despite efforts made by the government to increase tonnages retrieved from the waste stream. The use of recovered paper and board declined to 3% in 2007 and more than 75% of the 4.6 million tonnes of exports of recovered board and paper were shipped to the Far East.
