- The article discusses research being done on symptom burden among 64 patients with myeloma who underwent autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT). It references a study by Erica Campagnaro et al, published in the 2008 issue of "Cancer." It was found that M. D. Anderson Symptom Inventory (MDASI) scores increased significantly throughout transplantation, with most patients returning to baseline by Day 30 after the procedure.
