Abstract

The article features the musée du quai Branly in Paris, France. The facility is dedicated to art and civilisations of Africa, the Americas, Asia and Oceania and has been open since June 20, 2006. Its collection came from two pre-existing museum institutions, the musée de l'Homme and the musée des arts d'Afrique et d'Océanie. Both facilities' collection were gathered together, enhanced, developed and enriched to furnish one single service to users. The listing, indexing and digitisation of the facility's entire history of collections were implemented when they created a single database called Docmuse. With a new and unified system at hand, researchers can search various information into the scheme including reports of missions and letters from collectors.
