Abstract
- The article reports on the impact of regulation on the chemical industry through the European Union (EU) Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS) proposals which could postpone decisions on the treatment of energy intensive industries in Great Britain. It states the lack of clarity on the regulation that hinders investment on new plant and innovation decisions under the revised EU ETS. In addition, it points out the significance of treating the CO<subscript>2</subscript> in an energy intensive industry.
