Abstract

The article discusses the professional and policy impact of media representations. The journalists view on the disinterests of the young people in news and politics due to their lack of civic responsibility and critical engagement has threatened the popular culture mindless entertainment. Journalism and cultural studies are the only way to fully appreciate and understand the true nature of media consumption patterns. Journalism as profession is hoped to adopt to the changes predicted by the youthful consumption habits.
