Abstract
- The article focuses on papers presented in an international symposium on "Equitable Access to Health Care and Infectious Disease Control," that was held in February 2006 at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Key speakers included Gavin Mooney, Claudia Travassos, Michael Thiede and Norberto Dachs. Mooney stated that he does not believe that there is one universally correct definition of equity in health care since it varies across different cultures and societies.
