Abstract
- The article discusses ecological observations on Mt. Hanang, an extinct volcanic mountain in East Africa. The observations were conducted from February 4-15, 1946, and specimens from 187 plants and bird skins collected have been deposited in the East African Herbarium, the Kew Herbarium and the National Herbarium in Pretoria, South Africa. There are three distinguishable summits at the mountain as a result of volcanic activity and subsequent erosion. These include the Main Peak, the highest point, Werther Peak and the Three-ridged Peak.
