Doing Nothing Doesn't Work.

In spite of Bush's campaign promise to require power companies to reduce global warming, he has changed his policy so that it favors the fossil-fuel industry. The article discusses how the policy has led to high energy prices, a weak dollar, and a recession. Former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker warned of the negative effect on the economy from the lack of a plan to deal with climate change. The author believes that the U.S. economy will be revived by a plan to solve both the energy and climate crises.
