Hypericum perforatum (St John's Wort) for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder in Children and Adolescents.

The article presents a study seeking to determine the efficacy and safety of hypericum perforatum, also known as St. John's wort, as a treatment for attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children. The design and setting of the randomized, double-blind study, which involved interviews with a volunteer sample of 54 ADHD children, is described. The outcomes measured included performance of the herbal supplement according to an ADHD rating scale and adverse events.
