Abstract

The article discusses the need for libraries in Nigeria to engage in information repackaging (IR) in order to better serve library patrons. Packaging material is defined as the process which selects, processes and bundles material in a manner appropriate for the user. The author indicates that libraries are forced to repackage information due to changing information technologies. Topics include library services that which can be used at a distance, can handle multiple users, and can be utilized in a variety of ways. Also discussed is better service from libraries due to IR.
