Abstract

The article discusses a study which analyzed the age-adjusted prevalence of general and centralized obesity among Chinese men in Shanghai. Measurement of moderate and severe centralized obesity was performed using waist-to-hip ratio. It was discovered that the prevalence of overweight was 48.8% and obesity was 10.5% among Chinese men. Higher prevalence of obesity was found in men with high income or were retired, tea drinkers or nonusers of ginseng.
