Abstract
- Introduction. The advantages of a patient-specific 3D-model of the Spine for congenital scoliosis have been lately attested by some clinical researches (Peng et al. 2006. Chin J Radiol. 40(3):297-300). Method. This preliminary study was conducted on a patient affected by congenital scoliosis. She benefited from an EOS biplanar X-ray exam. Results. The full spine could be reconstructed including the hemivertebra. The precision of the reconstruction was qualitatively compared to a CT reconstruction and various parameters could be quantified. Conclusions. Providing a clinical validation, the presented method could extend the actual possibilities of today's algorithm to reconstruct congenital 3D-deformations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
