Abstract

The article reviews the meaning of beauty and aesthetic attitude within the discipline of science. The author cites several aesthetic concepts that are traditionally used in art to illustrate the interrelatedness of the latter ideas. Included are the notions of elegance and harmony, as well order and coherence which ultimately lead to unity. The author references numerous sources including aesthetician Monroe Beardley, art critic Clive Bell, and mathematical analyst G. H. Hardy to support his claims.
