Abstract
- The article presents information on print collection the Mead Art Museum at Amherst College in Massachusetts. The collection of mid-nineteenth-century prints at the museum was augmented by a gift from Edward C. Crossett. The commitment to American art was also established by George D. Pratt, who firmly believed in encouraging American artists. Some of the popular examples from the American print collection in the museum include George Bellow's lithograph "The Cigarette," prints by Picasso, and a series of etchings and aquatints of Edgar Chahine.
