Abstract
- An essay is presented on Alaska's fiscal record under the leadership of Governor and 2008 U.S. Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, showing how Alaska's taxation and spending conflict with a fiscal conservative approach. It is noted that Palin's revamping of the windfall-profits tax to increase Alaska's share conflicts with the U.S. Republican presidential candidate John McCain's stand against a windfall-profits tax.
