Abstract

Chapter XXI of the book "Hypatia or New Foes With an Old Face" is presented. It explores the squire-bishop pf Cyrene in a small and ill-furnished upper room of a fortified country house wherein a goblet of fire stood beside him. It stresses that he went on writing a verse or two, and then burying his face in his hands while hot tears dropped between his fingers on the paper.
