Abstract
- The article discusses first year special educators and their relationships with general education colleagues. The article mentions the investigations done on novice special educators and the stresses that these teachers face, which includes role ambiguity, student behavioral challenges, insufficient technology and curricular resources, large caseloads, lack of professional development opportunities, and inadequate administrative support. The article mentions teaching expectations, instructional strategies, the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act (IDEA), and the No Child Left Behind Act.
