Abstract

The article discusses the mortality events that affected the population of Paramuricea clavata in the Gulf of La Spezia in Italy. It is said that the population was monitored for three years after the mortality events, in which comparison of population density and population size structure is derived. It is cited that P. clavata's bathymetric distribution ranges the summer thermocline, which makes the population sensitive to an increase in temperature. Substantial larval supply is prevented due to lack of deeper colonies.
