Contextualising fisheries policy in the Lower Mekong Basin.

The article discusses policy that has been enacted regarding the fishing areas of the Lower Mekong Basin, located in Southeast Asia. The impact which this policy has had on the basin and the people who live near it is mentioned. Divisions which exists between the capture and aquaculture fisheries in this areas are discussed. The involvement that different governmental and non-governmental organizations often play in establishing policies relating to natural resources is mentioned. The impact that environmental regulations have had on aquatic animals in the area is discussed.
