Abstract
- The article offers information on USGENE, a database released on STN International, a service of FIZ Karlsruhe and Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS). The database allows searchers to perform freedom-to-operate, prior art, validity, and infringement patent sequence searches in U.S. gene patent publications, and provides up-to-date sequence data from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). USGENE was created by Martin Goffman of SequenceBase Corp. The database is a result of the explosion of Internet content and the need of information professionals credible intellectual property and patents.
